PRICES ARE INCREASING AT BANG BANG

The “WHAT

Prices are increasing on all of our items. The average price increase is about $0.50. Some items will increase a bit more and others less.

The “WHY

1. We have not raised prices since we took over the business two years ago (we did start collecting sales tax above the sales price about a year ago)

2. We are working towards break-even profitability

3. Our suppliers have increased prices over the last two years (coffee, bagels etc.)

4. We want to continue to pay our staff fairly (and add paid vacation/benefits in 2026)

5. We want to continue to deliver a high-quality and consistent product

6. We want to continue to help create a community together

The “WHEN

January 1st, 2026

MORE DETAILS BELOW

Thank you for taking the time to get a bit more background about the price increases on January 1 st. Bang Bang is a family-owned coffee shop and when we bought the business in December (2023) we left the already low prices unchanged. Our only price increase in the last two years was to start collecting sales tax outside of the purchase price.

Over the last two years we have been focused on building community – with our customers, our staff and the surrounding neighborhood. Our goal has never been profits. We are extremely fortunate that our day jobs provide the income we need to live on.

We are raising prices for many reasons but primarily because we need to hit break even profitability (so we can continue to serve our community!). We have been putting money into the business each month over the last 2 years, but we know that long term this isn’t sustainable. The business needs to be self-sustaining.

We also want to continue to treat our employees fairly. Hospitality done right is hard work and we tend to undervalue those who serve us. We pay our employees over market rates and want to continue to do so and in 2026 we plan to offer paid vacation and some level of medical coverage to all full-time staff.

In addition, our suppliers have increased prices over the last two years, and we need to raise prices to meet these changes.

The average price increase will be about $0.50 with some items going up more and others less. We looked at our local competitors and even with this price increase we will continue to be less expensive than most similar coffee shops.

We will continue to offer our very popular loyalty program. For every $25 you spend you get $2.50 off. We give away about $1,500 per month in loyalty discounts!

You work hard for your money, and we value that you choose to spend some of it with us. We will continue to do all we can to honor that choice and to multiply the impact of your dollars for our community.

Thank you!

Ben and Julie
