Hey reader! Welcome to my (Joel’s) little corner of this website. I know what you’re probably thinking “I thought this was a coffee website, not another movie review blog website thing!” (Do blogs still exist? Is that a thing anymore?). Well I got news for you friend, movies rule and I wanna talk about them and you’re just gonna have to deal with it. (Think of this as Bang Bang’s official Letterboxd account). So if you wanna occasionally read the rantings of a mad man, check back in every once in a while and you might see a new recommendation here. Oh, and before I forget, this is your official warning that if you actually take me up on one of my recommendations, you can’t be mad at me if you end up hating it. So don’t say I didn’t warn you. Now that the boring part is out of the way…
SURREAL ⋆ MELODRAMATIC ⋆ SINGULAR

Alrighty, let’s first address the elephant (white horse?) in the room. Twin Peaks is not a movie (but if you wanna make the argument that the entire TP experience combined together is one very long 2,656 minute masterpiece of a movie, I won’t get in your way). If you know TP and our shop, you probably know that there was no other option for our first recommendation. A lot of Bang Bang (our name, logo, specialty lattes, why we are who we are) was inspired by Twin Peaks and our love for the late, great David Lynch. Twin Peaks and David Lynch are incredibly important to us and seeing as coffee plays a central role in both the show as well as the life of Mr. Lynch, it only made sense that we gave a little tribute to them.
The show itself you ask? Yeah…no idea where to start. That’s like asking how to describe the feeling and emotional impact of putting together a jigsaw puzzle but none of the pieces have anything to do with each other and they don’t match the picture on the box that they came in and yet they also somehow seem to fit perfectly together. But then right before you’re about to actually finish the puzzle and put the last piece in, you realize that instead of putting pieces together, you’ve actually been taking them apart this entire time and you now see less of the picture than you started with. So if you think that sounds like fun, oh boy, do I have the show for you! So give it a try, let us know what you think and come talk about it with us at the shop.
